Christmas Eve Hyde Style

Both of our families do the big family celebration on Christmas Eve. It really only creates a problem every other year. Darryl's family usually will move their party to another day when it is their off year. My family on the other hand is a little more rigid and claims "you don't mess with tradition" which somehow seems strange to me that keeping the tradition is more important than having everyone there but whatever. This year they were kind enough to at least have their party a little bit earlier in the day so we could be there for part of it (it was a Wagner year and their party was at my house). So we headed to my brother John's house for a little while to exchange presents.
Eden and Lizzie were playing dress ups in the basement, this is what they came up as. Lizzie claimed it was Eden's idea that she wear that hat. I'm not so sure.
My mom has the tradition that she hides money in these felt stockings. It can be $5, $10, $20, or there is one $50. We love seeing who gets the $50 every year. We look forward to it even more than presents.
Eden got $5 and Georgia got $10.
We didn't get the $50, Michelle did this year.
Eden digging into her present.
She was so excited to get a princess tea set.
Georgia  got this little toy that lights up and plays music and animal sounds.
It claims its good for sleep. We'll see?!? (insert scepticism)
Eden gave Lizzie a Repunzel doll which Ann Marie (who is 21 years old) was quite excited about.
Ryan was thrilled with his Pokemon cards from Georgia.
And I gave Greg a lump of coal (and a remote for his camera).
Everyone got to give Georgia some love, mostly Jim and Michelle and Lyndsey who are always the first ones to grab her.
I don't see my family much because my mom has "disowned" me (long story) and they don't get to see Georgia hardly at all because its winter and we don't take her out much.
We survived the Hyde family party without fighting much which is a big accomplishment and I am glad they were willing to bump their party up so we could be there for a bit, although Darryl was bummed he didn't get to stay for the prime rib.
We had to rush off to our house for the Wagner family party.
